Hanwell voted one of the best places to live in 2022 by The Sunday Times

We’re very proud that The Sunday Times* has named Hanwell, home to our Central Square development, as the second-best place to live in London in its prestigious annual Best Places to Live report.

From great transport connections and cultural attractions, to an impressive array of schools and green spaces, Hanwell is firmly on the map as one of west London’s most desirable neighbourhoods. If you’re looking to put down roots in the capital, check out why Hanwell could be a great option for you…

Transport Links

Hanwell is extremely well connected with fast and frequent bus and rail services. Once the Elizabeth Line opens later this year, you will be able to get to Bond Street in just 17 minutes and Liverpool Street in 24 minutes. It takes only 15 minutes to get from Hanwell to Paddington for trips outside of London. A simple 10-minute bus ride to Ealing Broadway means you have access to underground services on the District and Central lines.

Green space

Leafy Hanwell has plenty of green areas, including Churchfield’s Recreational Ground, Connolly Dell Ponds and Manor Court Green. Whether you are looking to picnic in the park, enjoy a sunny stroll or organise a friendly game of football – green space is at the heart of Hanwell.

Attractions

Hanwell is home to a selection of exciting attractions. From Hanwell Zoo to Lock Flight, there are so many ways to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of this west London suburb. The vibrancy of the area is best experienced at the festivals and events held throughout the year – you won’t want to miss Hanwell Hootie which is scheduled for 7th May this year and hosts a variety of music and comedy artists.

Amenities

After a busy day exploring, there are plenty of places to stop off for some delicious food and drink. The Green W7, The Dodo Micropub and W7 Emporium are just a few of our favourites. The diverse community in Hanwell is matched by the impressive array of cuisines on offer.

Education

The Sunday Times has pointed out that many schools in Hanwell have been regarded good or outstanding by Ofsted. Primary schools include Brentside, Three Bridges and Fielding, while  secondary school pupils are well catered for at Elthorne Park and Drayton Manor High School – a fantastic selection for families living in the area.
